DoktorABC Service and its limitations
DoktorABC.com provides access to medical consultation and pharmacy service without having to see a doctor in person or entering a pharmacy. You complete a simple medical questionnaire, choose your preferred treatment and place your treatment request. The prescribing doctors will check to make sure the treatment is suiting for your individual health situation. If not, they will recommend an alternative. Once your prescription has been issued online, the pharmacy processes your order and will ship the prescribed medication the next working day to the address of your choice. DoktorABC complies with UK regulations and follows the generally accepted standards in the telemedicine industry. The online doctors on the DoktorABC platform are UK certified and follow the prescription guidelines set by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and BNF. Medicines are dispensed from a licensed mail-order pharmacy registered in the UK. The drugs prescribed by doctors are licensed and approved in the UK. This ensures that you receive original and high quality medicines.
1. Patients are able to find the treatment they need or the complaints for which they require medication using either the listing or the search function on our website. Once patients have found the treatment they need or the condition they need treatment for, they can click "Start Online Consultation” and they will then will be taken to the medical questionnaires. 2. The medical questionnaires have been prepared by doctors and pharmacists. Patients will be asked questions relating to their health in general, and to the condition they are seeking to treat. The questionnaire is specific to the condition and the treatment so will vary accordingly. After the questionnaire has been completed, patients will be offered to choose preferred medication from the list of recommended treatment options or continue with the default recommended treatment. 3. Patients will be asked to register a patient account at DoktorABC, provide their personal details when registering, enter the delivery address, confirm order and pay with their preferred payment method. 4. Once the patient has submitted the order, the information provided in the medical questionnaire will be checked by one of the doctors. All prescribing doctors at DoktorABC are registered in the UK. Based on the information that has been provided, the doctor or the pharmacist will either approve or reject your request. If the doctor has any further questions, they will communicate these with the patient through the messaging facility in the encrypted patient account on the DoktorABC website, before any decision can be made. A notification will always be sent to the patient by email if the doctor requires further information. The patient will be sent an email if the request is rejected. The reason it was rejected will be stated in the customer's account and the patient will be issued a full refund. If the treatment request is approved, the patient will be sent an email notification. 5. The doctor will issue an electronic prescription. This will then be forwarded to the dispensing mail-order pharmacies.
6. As soon as the pharmacist has received the electronic prescription, this will then be checked carefully. They will then:
- approve the request
- reject the request
- ask the patient for more information before making a decision
- inform patient about dispatch of medical products by phone
- or discuss this with the doctor before they make a decision
- or verify specific information, such as the delivery address or the customer's ID, with the help of our customer services team
The patient will also be sent an email if the request is rejected by the pharmacist. This email will explain the reason why the order was rejected and the patient will be issued a full refund.
If the request is approved by the pharmacist, the medication will be packed by the pharmacy.
7. As soon as the medication has been packed and is ready to be dispatched, it will then be then shipped by the mail-order pharmacy via one of couriers (UPS) by next-day tracked delivery to the address provided by the patient. The patient will be supplied with a tracking number via email, so that they can follow the progress of their delivery.
8. To accept the delivery, the patient will need to show the courier a valid form of identification that includes a photo. This must be an official form of ID such as a passport or a driving licence.
9. Once the treatment has been delivered, the patient will be sent an email inviting them to rate our service on Trustpilot.
If the patient is not satisfied with the service or if there is a problem with the product, they are welcome to get in touch with our customer service team, who will try to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Products
All of the treatments shown on the DoktorABC website are original and are approved medications in the UK.
Some of the medications the doctors may not be able to prescribe on an ‘initial treatment’ basis. This is particularly the case for medications which treat ongoing chronic conditions, as primary diagnosis for these will need to be done by a physician in person. Once the initial diagnosis has been made, then the prescribing doctors at DoktorABC can offer patients prescription renewals for such items, if treatment has already been started by their doctor or specialist.
In some cases, the prescribing doctors may offer treatment for a condition ‘off-label’. This means that the medication has not been specifically licensed to treat the condition in question, but that some doctors do prescribe it for this purpose. If this is the case, we will indicate this clearly on the product page.
Storage and processing of patient information
All of the information that the patient submits to DoktorABC.com will be treated as confidential.
We will inform their doctor about the order that was fulfilled if the patient gives their consent for this to happen.
Otherwise we will not share this patient information under any circumstances with a third party.
The payment will be processed by Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or by bank transfer. We will not save your account details at any time.
All personal information will be saved on our secure server. Only the doctors and pharmacists have access to this data and they are aware of data protection regulations.
If the doctors require any further information from you, they will ask you about this using our secure patient account messaging function.
You can find further information about protecting your personal information on our information page.
